Guy the Gorilla, Crystal Palace Park

So many people remember this statue from their childhood. Guy the Gorilla lived at London zoo from 1947 until 1978, and was famous as a gentle giant. The statue was erected in the park in 1961. The sculptor David Wynne made sure the statue was accessible, and children still play on it today.
